Plugging in to personal development is the most important thing that a person can do that is involved with Network Marketing. The reason why I say that is because it helps you in so many ways that you didn't even imagine. Your relationships get better, health, thinking, finances, I could go on forever. I want to define what it is, then show how it can help.
Webster's dictionary defines personal as relating to an individual or an individual's character, conduct, motives, or private affairs often in an offensive manner. Webster dictionary defines develop as to make active or promote the growth of. My business partner Antoine Lyseight defines personal development as the act to strengthen yourself in your areas of your weakness in order to improve upon your current situation.
I am a firm believer that wherever we are in life, in our business, in our education, in our relationships, our spirituality and in our finances, is exactly where we want to be. If we wanted any of those areas to be different then we would have made specific decisions and taken specific steps to get us to another place. I lacked this early in my network marketing career and suffered greatly because of it. Personal development is more than just reading a good book and listening to an inspired author on audio tapes or cd. Personal development does a few powerful things that I want to highlight.
It gives you belief beyond this world. Limiting belief destroys you every single time. When you place a limit on something that means whatever is limited can't move beyond a predetermined mark. Isn't that the reason why a lot of people join network marketing companies, because their job has limited them from earning what they think they are worth? Well if your job did it to you and you are mad at them, then why aren't you mad at yourself? Some people don't look at it that way, but it's the truth. Belief and faith work hand in hand to me.
They both go beyond reality to me. Reality is that you are broke, nothing is happening right, and everybody is against you. Belief and faith say don't focus on what you see with your natural eyes, but focus on your vision with your spiritual eyes. The vision that you have sees you through those hard times when reality smacks you in the face. Because your belief is getting stronger, you feel like Superman, you can go through walls. That to me is what its all about, pushing pass those limiting barriers and becoming somebody.
You become like minded with individuals that are accomplishing great things. There is a proverb that says iron sharpens iron. I believe it whole heartedly. It is an awesome feeling to be connected mentally with someone that is on a higher level as you. Your thinking begins to change for the better. You see things from a different perspective. You wear a smile on your face all day because you know there is a transformation that is going on in your head that you just can't explain. People all around you can see the change that is happening. Your mind stops focusing on things that you don't have or haven't done and it begins to focus on things that you will have or do. Something as simple as that is what separates people from being great or average.
There is another saying that I think is so true, whoever has your ear has your destiny. What you hear is what you meditate on subconsciously. It influences your character, morals, beliefs, and personality. If you don't believe me, pay attention to what you watch on tv or listen to on the radio. I can guarantee that you will see a reflection of what you listen to in the mirror. Now flip it to the positive. If you listen to someone that helps to elevate your thinking and way of life, and it becomes second nature to you, then you are on the same wavelength as that individual and you will began to do great things.
Your attitude changes for the better and things are not so negative anymore. The law of attraction states that whatever you focus on, it will come to you. But at the very root of this, are your feelings. However you feel is what you will think on. So if you are feeling good all day, then you will have a great attitude and good things will attract to you. If you are feeling bad, then you are carrying a negative vibe and bad things will attract to you. I would not have known about this had it not been for me watching a documentary on personal development. Now, I try to focus on having a good attitude no matter what happens. I know eventually I will get what I focus on. I dare you to change your life and start reading a book today. You will find out that its like candy, you can't get enough of it. You will want to continue to read and read some more. What you read will soak into your mind and then you will begin to act out what you read.
